What does Jeremiah the prophet have in
common with the little red hen? Jeremiah was
known as the weeping prophet. His life was more like a bad
dream than a ministry. He was beaten, hated, dropped in a
well and forced to leave his home country by people who did
not even like him. Why would anyone put up with such
treatment? The answer may be found in the children's story
the little red hen. It may seem a far leap but it will help
anyone who is struggling in this very tough world. Jeremiah
is the perfect example of surviving the unfair treatment of
non-believers.

Is there a deeper spiritual life waiting
the believer? Is showing up enough or should the
believer expect more from God, and should God expect more
from the believer? Isaiah lived in a time much like
today. Failed leadership had ruined the nation. They lived
in constant fear of war and financial ruin. Isaiah was
serving God but he was far from God when he was confronted
with the call of a deeper life. How he responded and what
that deeper life would do for him is exactly what it can do
for any believer today who is interested in the deeper life.

What qualifications should a church set
for selecting church leadership? The people of
the Old Testament rejected the leadership of God and
demanded a king. They were unwilling to follow the
directions given them by God and wanted to choose their own
leaders. The results was the nation went from bad to worse.
The church of the New Testament needs to learn from their
mistakes and hold fast to the directions given to it by God
in the the Scriptures. No matter the type of church or form
of church government your church uses there are requirements
that are clearly stated in scripture for selecting the right
people to serve as church leaders. Pastor Bob breaks the
long list of leadership requirements down to five simple
questions that need to be answered to choose the right
persons for serving in church leadership.

Do you know how to balance your life?
Solomon knew the ups and the downs of life. He had made more
mistakes than almost anyone else ever has. He had 700 wives
and 300 concubines or his odds for success were 1,000 to
one. Yet we can learn from Solomon on how to live a
successful life. He wrote the book of Ecclesiastes to show
us all he had learned. There is a balance between the
negatives and positives we face in our daily living. Learn
how to handle the negatives and to use the positives to
balance and live a successful Christian life.

Do you have a plan in place to make sure
that you are living a healthy Christian life?
Jesus was clear about God working in our lives to make us
healthy believers. Jesus said God prunes the lives of
everyone. That means believers and non-believers are all
having their lives evaluated and pruned. God has a different
way he prunes the life of non-believers and how he prunes or
trims the lives of believers. There are three areas or ways
that this can happen. This message will help you determine
what type of Endings need to take place in your life and
why. These will take place whether you want it to or not.
This can be positive or negative it is up to you.

Do you know what a group of believers is
supposed to do together? A group of baboons can
be called a congress. A group of Vultures is called a
committee. A group of crocodiles is called a congregation. I
did not make that up. A group of Christian believers is
called a church. When a church meets what are they supposed
to do? That question is answered more important than you
think. King David stayed home and ended up in a mess with
the Prophet Nathan confronting him. He missed the mark by
being in the wrong place. The members of a church must make
sure they don't make a similar mistake. This message points
out the three thing every church should be doing.

Do you have a problem or giant you are not
dealing with? There are those situations, people,
problems and giants we face in life that stop us dead in our
tracks. They force us to abandon our goals because they
block our life path. They can be dealt with but we often see
them as too large or difficult for us to handle. These
giants can be dealt with if we apply the same principles to
our life that David used to defeat Goliath. Not throwing
stones but dealing with your giants or problems is something
that can turn your life around and make you a winner on a
regular basis.

What is the worst decision you can make?
That is not a trick question. Israel made a really bad
decision that cost them their God and his protection. He
even went so far as to stopped listening to their prayers.
People make major decisions for their life and many times
these are not done with deep thought and planning. People
make a lot of the most important decisions with a knee jerk
sudden reflex to a situation they are in. Learn the
consequences of the worst decision Israel ever made and how
you can avoid making the same wrong decision.

Have you chosen a life path yet?
Many people wander through life unaware that they are on a
life path that will ultimately arrive at a dead end. That is
a literal DEAD END. They have by default chosen one of the
paths in life that do not lead to a final reunion with God
the Father. Instead they have chosen to follow a path that
ends with them facing God the Judge. The four paths through
life are clearly marked and each person can choose which one
they wish to follow. Pastor Bob clearly shows the four paths
and the decisions that lead to taking each one.

Are you afraid of being seen as a
Christian Believer? People have a lot of fears.
People who follow God have their own fears. These fears
usually come from their contact with the world. Those who
are not believers often show their ignorance by the way they
treat believers. no one like to be disliked or rejected.
Even as adults we have to fight against fear. There is the
fear of being seen as a Christian. If you want to overcome
this fear you can if learn from Gideon and his personal
contact with the messenger of God.

What barriers do Christians need to take
down in their lives? There are a lot of barriers
in life. Much like the walls of Jericho we need to know how
to get them down if we are going to have victory in our
lives. Pastor Bob deals with two sets of barriers we need to
take down if we are going to have successful Christian
lives. The first is the barrier between us and God. The
second barriers he deals with are those between believers in
the church. If we can take down these barriers we will find
Church is one place we enjoy more than almost anywhere we
go. Discover the barriers and what it will take to break
them down in your life and in your church.

Is it alright to talk to yourself,
especially if you answer? Talking to yourself is
not something new or even original. The number of people who
do it is higher than you might think. There are even times
in the Bible where people talk to themselves and answer. We
can learn from them a lot about God and how we relate to
God. The Hebrews in the wilderness failed to get to know God
even after forty years of eating manna, and following the
cloud and pillar of fire. If you want to know how to answer
yourself properly take time as Pastor Bob shows you in Psalm
42 the way. The way to a closer and lasting relationship
with God.

What is the difference between an external
and an internal relationship with God?
Moses enter the presence of God and when he came before the
people his face glowed. After that he would wear a veil
until he returned to speak with God again. In the New
Testament Paul says we are all to have unveiled faces. How
can the veil of the Old Testament Tabernacle, the veil that
Moses wore and the veil of Herod's temple all help us
understand and enhance our relationship with God? Take time
to dig deeper and learn as believers we need to remove all
veils and discover the daily presence of God.

What is the meaning behind Communion?
Christians take communion by using a small cup of grape
Juice and a wafer like cracker to follow the directions
given to them by Jesus on the night before he died. This is
far from the meal and circumstances of the Seder meal that
Jesus was present at the night he broke the bread and shared
the cup of wine with his disciples. This message traces the
path of our beliefs from the first Passover meal to the time
of Jesus to the modern Jewish Seder meal. This message is
designed to help you take a closer look and get a deeper
meaning of the communion we share together as Christian
believers.

What moments define your life?
Many people miss the opportunity to live for God because
they think it is only the really big moments that matter to
God. When we look at our life we need to see it in light of
the moments that give us direction and which show our inner
character. This message will look at the defining moments of
the lives of George Washington, Joseph the 11th son of Jacob
and also the defining moment of a modern athletic who lost
the game but won in life. Learn why defining moments are
rarely public and often are only seen by two, you and God.

Do You have any long term spiritual goals?
If you are going to have a successful and fulfilling life as
a believer in Jesus you need to have spiritual goals. In
order to set these goals properly you need to answer three
questions that God has for you. They were first ask in the
garden to Adam and Eve under some very tough circumstances.
These three questions can help you design a spiritual life
plan that will take you deeper and make your relationship
with God more vital and alive. These questions are designed
to be asked at the beginning of the 31 weeks of the Story

What is the one thing that makes the real
difference in our life? The Story is the Bible as
one continuous narration starting with Genesis and ending
with Revelation. Pastor Bob challenges each person to
consider the need and the rewards of making a commitment to
reading The Story in 2012. Each person needs to be able to
see the upper story and the lower story. The upper story is
the world from God's point of view. The lower story is the
world from the point of view of each person as they live
their lives. In the end pastor Bob ask one question that
everyone needs to answer if they are going to grow
spiritually this year. You will have the opportunity to
answer that question and take the journey through the Story
in the next 31 weeks.
