Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the
mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped
him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All
authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore
go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and
teaching them to
obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to
the very end of the age."
Matthew 28.16-20 |

My personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the key first step in my growth as a Christian. This is symbolized by my willingness to enter into baptism. Baptism is my public declaration that I have made a personal decision to live for Jesus and that I have asked forgiveness for my personal spiritual failures. |
The church is the community of believers who together support each other as they learn the truth that Jesus wants us all to know. Here we discover the presence of God in common fellowship. We are strengthened by sharing our gifts and talents together, and by helping each other in times of need. | The community that surrounds each church body needs to hear the good news. This includes our family and friends. It is the responsibility of each believer and every church to share the message of hope and strength for daily living with those we know and love. | |
|
Having made a personal commitment I
can begin to grow in my Christian life. |
Jesus expects us to be part of a local church where we can discover the
strength of the community of believers. 5 Ways to experience the church: 1. Weekly community service where the church gathers to hear the word of God explained and to share our common Joy. 2. Weekly small group involvement 3. Personal ministry in the church where I use my gifts and talents to serve others 4. Regular personal fellowship with other church members. 5. Holding the needs of the other church members up in prayer, believing for answers to these prayers. |
Jesus
expects us to share the massage of HOPE and FORGIVENESS with the surrounding
world. We cannot believe this is the responsibility of the minister. 5 ways to share with the community: 1. Live your life in such a way that others recognize and will want to ask about your faith. 2. Watch for opportunities to answer your friends and family questions about Jesus and your church. 3. Being willing to invite friends or family to be part of your church or small group. 4. Opening your home to a small group that will include friends and family. 5. Praying for friends and family that have not made a commitment to Jesus. |
|
| These three are critical parts of the Christian life. We are to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This brings us into the Christian fellowship of believers better know as the church. Here we grow, learn and minister together as members of the Kingdom of God. This prepares us to live our daily lives in the community that surrounds us. Here we come in contact with our family and friends who do not know Jesus as their personal savior. This daily contact is our opportunity to share with them through our life the blessing and joy of a personal relationship with Jesus. | |||
