Missions at Sonrise Church
We believe that part of our
responsibility as Christians is our outreach into the world
around us. Through personal ministry and designated giving
we are working to make a difference. Here are some of the
ways we reach out:
is a program sponsored by the Church of God that allows
individuals to support children in foreign countries. It
allows for basic nutritional needs and with educational
expenses. At Sonrise we currently are supporting the needs
of six children in Colombia. Click on the Children of
Promise image to go to their website.

is a program that works
to "empower the individual to make well-informed choices.
They can be contacted at

Pregnancy testing and will help with the options that are
available to you.
Sonrise supports the
local Care-Net and their commitment with monthly financial
contributions.
At Care-net Olympia:
1. Clients are served without regard to age, race, income,
nationality,
religious affiliation, disability or other arbitrary
circumstances.
2. Clients are treated with kindness, compassion and in a
caring manner.
3. Clients always receive honest and open answers.
4. Client pregnancy tests are distributed and administered
in accordance with
all applicable laws.
5. Client information is held in strict and absolute
confidence. Client
information is only disclosed as required by law and when
necessary to
protect the client or others against imminent harm.
6. Clients receive adequate information about pregnancy,
fetal development,
lifestyle issues and related concerns.
7. We do not offer, recommend, or refer for abortions or
abortifacients, but
we are committed to offering accurate information about
abortion
procedures and risks.
8. All our advertising and communications are truthful and
honest, and
accurately describe the services we offer.
9. All of our staff and volunteers receive proper training
to uphold these
standards.

We support Boy Scout
Troop 266 here in Olympia with designated funds contributed
by our members. Several years ago the local United Way
removed the Boy Scouts from their list of supported
organizations. When this happened we began supporting
the scouts as an organization that maintains strong
Christian moral values. We encourage our members to support
such organizations.

We support Patrick and Jamie Nachtigall
in their mission to Hong Kong, China.
Patrick and Jamie serve the Church of God
worldwide from Hong Kong. They are involved in mentoring
young leaders, counseling, teaching and writing. Born in San
Jose, Costa Rica, Patrick was adopted by a missionary
couple, and moved to the States. Jamie also came from a
missionary family and grew up in Cairo, Egypt. They both
attended Anderson University.
Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Patrick was an Associate
Pastor of churches in Oregon and Connecticut. They have a
five year old son Marco, who attends preschool in Hong Kong.

We here at Sonrise have
found that focusing our missions supports allows us as a
smaller church to have a greater impact in the areas we
minister to. We also support our state and national
organizations with designated and percentage funding. |
